Big liners: small casing!
We needed another pack of 4 Mio Nappies in addition to the 12 in this set to help get us through a 2-day wash cycle. I find that the nappies (liners) are quite big for the casing and our new-born baby, so the fitted item looks rather awkward and don't leave a great deal of space inside the nappy for faeces. I have been tempted to cut the liners into 1/3 - 2/3 sections and just use the 2/3 section to begin with whilst baby is still small and then add the 1/3 section when more absorbency is needed and a larger nappy casing is appropriate. Have I had the time to faff around with all that - no.
I would recommend purchasing an extra casing so that you can hand wash and dry the ones that get wet and messy in one day - the casings do get wet through in places and the elasticated leg seams are (often) the last line of defence against a hull breach.
No doubt these things have saved us millions in the nappy budget, so they are worth the effort.
